II Corinthians 4:18
While we look (to take
aim to attend to) not at the things, which are seen, (perceived=
to obtain knowledge, to understand) but at the things, which are not
seen: for the things, which are, seen are temporal; (transient) but the
things, which are not seen, are eternal. (Without beginning or end in
relation to time, immortal, imperishable).
II Corinthians 5:7
(For we walk by faith, not
by sight:)
I feel the biggest questions
in the Christians mind is the ones they never ask, because they think it sounds
crazy, or they've been told that they were to technical when looking at the
word.....But if you know anything about Pastor Smith you know that I lean on
the scripture that says:
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: (intimacy relationship) because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: (intimacy relationship) because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
There is truly a famine in
our land and while we may think it is a natural famine, actually it's the
famine of hearing the Word of God. And it has caused a lack of knowledge,
(Intimacy) where truly we are in a position right now that God is asking....
Who do men say that I am?
But we struggle with answering
that question, because even tho we are preached to and preached at, we have no
relationship and intimacy with God. We know about him, his power, his glory, we
have been on the outside looking in. But we have yet to really have a
visitation and encounter with him.
WHY?
Amos 8:11
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
And friend when we talk
about a famine of hearing the words of the LORD, its much more the words of a
book. For now we must look at the scripture even deeper.
John 1:1-2
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (Substance and Evidence)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (Substance and Evidence)
For now we see the famine is God himself, not just a
word from a book but it's a supernatural being of power. Thus now fulfilling II
Cor. 4:8 and II Cor. 5:7 for the scrip says we walk by faith not by sight...and
in Heb 11:1 we find that Faith is the substance of things hoped for and
the evidence of things not seen. So friend we allow the substance which
is the very character or grace of God (Christ himself) John 16:13-John 16:13 he will guide you
into all truth
and to guide
us, and the evidence being (The Holy Ghost himself) and John 15:26-John 15:26 he shall
testify of me: ... to clear the way of our path...And friend how do we receive the
Faith....
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Now let's look at Romans
10:17
Faith cometh......let's just
look at the the last 3 letters of the
word cometh, ETH...those 3 letters mean continual a repetition so faith
will only and can only come by hearing=perceiving, and then you look at
the word perceive= means to obtain knowledge through the senses to hear or
feel. So if Faith is the Character
of Christ himself, so then we can only know him by (intimacy) with him. And
intimacy can only come by time in the word of God John 1:14 14 And the Word was made flesh, and
dwelt among us, (and we beheld (to perceive, understand or visit) his glory, the glory as of
the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (Substance
and Evidence)
