THE ARMOUR OF GOD.....

The Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10

I believe this is a topic that needs to be dealt with at every pulpit in the church.
we tell  people they need to put on the armor of God, but we never give instruction of
1. What is the Armor of God
2. How can I put something on that I can't see or touch
3.Do I dress the body, soul or spirit man or all 3
4. Is the armor of God natural or spiritual

Before we proceed it's important that we fully understand the scripture and it's purpose. The bible says in
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,  to them who are the called according to his purpose.

My friend, in reading that verse it's important that you understand it.  That promise is not to all Christians,  people and churches. But only to them who are the called according to his purpose..Not your purpose  or mine but his........
a lot of churches are functioning  in there purpose not God's purpose. And that is why things are not working out for them.
when understanding the difference between his purpose and our purpose we must go back to the scripture....
to understand Gods purpose
In
II Timothy 3: 16
All scripture is given by inspiration-(to breathe in, to infuse thought or feeling, to affect with supernatural influence) of God, and is profitable-(to yield profit or gain)  for
Doctrine-foundation
Reproof-to charge
Correction-standard of truth
Instruction-give direction
in righteousness.

when the word is spoke it should accomplish 4 things in our relationship with God, now understanding this  that the number 4 is the number of procreative power, So when the word is spoke it brings life to our procreative ability, or the ability to produce.
as the scripture declares....

II Corinthians 3:6
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
So see when we are impregnated by the word in our womb, after that process is complete and the seed is planted then the spirit feeds the seed and produces a life giving word
God never gives word with out instruction....the scripture says in

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old (MATURE) he will not depart from it.
Now let's look at

St John 14:26
But  the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

If you notice in the book of proverbs the child is referred to on the Masculine side, thus telling us that the word is always on the Masculine and the spirit is on the feminine side
and the OT is a type and shadow of the NT.
So in dealing with all this it's important that we not only tell people to put on the whole armor of God but we give the instruction  of how to do it.

Now let's look at
Ephesians 6:10
10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might .
11. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13. Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.
14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God:

One by one we will take it apart and see what the scrip is telling us:
Verse 10
Finally: at the end or the conclusion of something
Brethren: One tied to another thru the womb or loins of God
Be: To occupy, or marry
Strong: Able to think clearly, To be firm and durable.
In: to be enclosed or wrapped in or by something
the: a directional work pointing to something or someone
Lord: Self existent one
and: a mathematical phrase adding something to something
In the
Power: Ability to control others with great influence thru the Spirit of God not of man.
of: meaning a rep of someone or something
his:not just any but of him
Might: Force

I have taken the liberty to highlight and underline some words, I would like you to take time and grab a quality Websters dictionary and study on them words.
I'm here to wet your taste buds and stir you up......so that when you have read the surface of the Armour of God you will take it one step further and study it deeper. as a Pastor I taught this subject for over 1 year time to my people.
Verse 11
Put: wow....this is a powerful word in itself with 3 letters and the number 3 being the number of spiritual completion, this number also stands for that which is solid real and substantial , to apply with effort and to exercise. And understanding the word PUT means to be emerged, or to sink into something. the writer is simply telling us to allow ourselves to sink-(to descend to lower out of sight; to penetrate).  the complete nature or character of God.
I have underlined a portion of the definition of Sink: meaning to descend, to lower out of sight....which is the first thing Christ done in the changing from walking this earth as Jesus to becoming the Christ the son of the Living God.
John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God
14. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth.
after the desension and the preparation of the ascension
John 20:17
Jesus saith unto her, Touch-(attach) me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God , and your God.
Ephesians 1: 18-22
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
19. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand-( this represents a picture of performance and length of days and delight, it's also symbolic of the garden of Eden, the garden of God dealt with in the book of Ezekiel 28:13).( when dealing with the left hand it's a picture of riches and honor and promise and darkness and secret Proverbs 3:16). in the heavenly places,
21. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name-(nature or character) that is named, not only in this world-(age or period of time), but also in that which is to come:
22. And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.
please continue to read St. John 14:1-14.
and sitting at the right-(Pleasure, delight) hand- (custody or possession of) of the father.
My friend as the scripture declares:
I Peter 3:6
Humble yourself under the mighty hand-(possession of) of God,  that he may exalt you in due time.
John 3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.
II Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Put: is a command, he didn't say, request or ask he said PUT.
he proceeds to tell us. Now we deal with the word ON....this word has 2 letters and the number 2 is the number of division or difference it always affirms that there is another to follow. You've got to leave where your at to get to where you want to be. The Armour is the complete nature or character of God...the Deity of the father.
Put on now we must understand where to put this armor of God
???
the body
the soul
or
the spirit man.
first of all friend why would we need to dress the body when the scrip says from dust it came and to dust it shall return.
Genesis 3:19 Ec 12:7
and the Spirit man is the very breath of God, that gave life to our soul man.
Genesis 2:7
and the enemy can't penetrate the image or spirit or breath of God.
so friend the only thing left that the enemy wants is the soul man. this consist of your appetites, passions and desires. It's the seat of all spiritual life  in your relationship with God. So understanding now what the Armour of God is will now help us in our walk with God.
"THE ARMOUR OF GOD"
is the very character and or nature of God...
Romans 13:12 armour of light=Christ said I"m the light of the world
II Corinthians 6:7 Armour of righteousness
I John 2:29, II Corinthians 6:7
Righteousness: Innocence
Righteousness and light is the nature of God, so is the armour of God the nature or character of God...

Zechariah 10:12
And I will strengthen them in the Lord; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord.
Proverbs 18:10
The name-(nature or character) of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteousness  runneth into it, and is safe.
Now that we understand what the Armour of God is let's continue....
