Halloween?

 Please read with a open mind that is all I request,

"Halloween"

Fierce creatures... disembodied hands... bodies rising from graves... witches summoning spirits of the dead... not horror movie plots, but things that are recorded in our Holy Bible.

Friend, I'm not here to tell you what to do, or how to do it. But just simply share with you. I remember as a child as most of you will also remember that every Oct 31 our parents would dress us up and we would go out and gather candy and come home and eat till our stomach hurts. The emphasis was never put on the devil or evil the emphasis was always put on God and the power that he has placed in our lives. I've read and heard numerous articles about this subject, and they all tell us not to glorify the evil and the devil and I agree. But in reading and listening to them it seems to me that is exactly what they are doing, sure they give scriptures to you.  But Friend, its so important that you understand that the scriptures says in 

Job 3:25

For the thing, which I greatly feared, is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

Maybe we are instilling fear in the hearts of our children and we have become more evil conscious and devil conscious, than God conscious. I'm not asking you to change; I'm simply trying to make you aware of what is going on. I find it amazing that just in the last15 years this has become such a focus of importance, I remember as a child my mother instilling nothing but God and his power and strength in my mind and my life. Was our parents that unlearned and ignorant to the word of God? And if you are willing to admit it you went Trick or treating as a child, and it was nothing more to you than gathering candy and enjoying it. (and you didn't come out so bad).  Friend, where did we lose our focus on a sovereign powerful creative God. (Focus creates blindness)  We can look all day long and throw scriptures back and forth all day such as:

Isaiah 54:17-No weapon formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me saith the LORD.

Luke 10:19-Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Matthew 16:19-And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:  and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Ephesians 6:10-17-Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  11. Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Please read on your own on down).

II Timothy 1:7-For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I'm not here for a scripture battle, or to dispute everything that is written but take time look......You can't have evil without good, false without true, counterfeit without genuine. The devil is not creator but an imitator. He simply takes what God has established and perverts it The scripture says:

St. John 1: 1-3-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2. The same was in the beginning with God  3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Friend just look at the first two words of the 3rd verse (ALL THINGS). that leaves nothing left, and tells us the devil did not originate anything or create anything. He has simply taken the good and perverted it. Let's go back and re-instill the goodness, the power, the authority. Not the fear and anxiety of the negative. yes friend there must be balance I agree, but really we are a nation right now so unbalanced in our relationship with God that we need to follow 

II Chr 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

it's not that in the last 15 years we discovered something evil it's that we have lost something real.......

We live in a world where our very explanation for it is built upon the supernatural; a fact we sometimes tend to ignore - especially at this time of year - because we know there is a heavenly realm and  we also know there is a dark side to that realm. 

I Corinthians 15:40-45, 55-57

40. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

41. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of th moon, and another glory of the stars:  for one star differeth from another star in glory.

42. So also  is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43. It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

45. And so it is written,  The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

55.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56.

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ.

We also know that fear is a very real, Fear, is the #1 weapon of the enemy and it's a very confusing, and a very destructive force. But it has been overcome through Christ and the Spirit God has given us Love, Power and a Sound Mind.  Still there is perhaps something to be gained by studying instances in the Word where scary things happened, where godly men and women were frightened, even where lines that should not be crossed regarding the supernatural were crossed. What better time to reflect upon these things and be thankful we have been given the spiritual armor of God and that we can equip our young people with positive and overcoming attitudes and show them that we can have peace and comfort knowing that the scripture is fulfilled in 
Romans 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. And we don't have to live in fear and doubt.

So I leave you with this, let's change the  focus on the meaning of Halloween or whether we as Christians should celebrate it or not. Rather, let's provide another way to get the young people excited about the Scriptures and the God that we serve...
